Just when Isomass Scientific thought everything was running perfectly, it happened… disaster struck!
When the staff at Calgary based Isomass Scientific came to work Monday morning they were greeted with a water soaked office. It appeared that someone had broken into their utility room over the weekend and turned on a high pressure water hose. This broke a hole through the wall and flooded the entire office.

A year prior to this incident, PURE IT Inc. had installed a SAFETYNET Backup Disaster Recovery (BDR) system at Isomass Scientific. The SAFETYNET BDR is a Backup and Disaster Recovery server that runs at the client’s location and backs up all their critical data and programs every 15 minutes. Another added benefit to the device is a nightly offsite backup to a secure remote location. In the event of a total disaster, Pure IT can have all your data and programs replicated to a new BDR server and rushed to your location within 24 hours.
When the Pure IT technical consultants arrived on site at Isomass Scientific they found water had soaked all their critical servers and nothing was working. Despite the water damage, Pure IT was able to get the SAFETYNET BDR running, and had Isomass running off virtual copies of their destroyed servers the next day. Those same copies were then transferred to new server hardware with minimal downtime and zero data loss.
